The Agency for Reincorporation and Standardization (ARN) is the Presidential Agency that has accompanied and provided permanent advice to those who bet on peace and make the transition to legality. We have been doing this since 2003, and we have been generating opportunities that strengthen the capacities of individuals who demobilize so they can develop fully as citizens.
The Agency has presence throughout the country through different branches and experienced professionals with high human qualities. Our officials guide former combatants to achieve their life goals while strengthening ties with their families and the community, through three processes:
Reintegration process: This program is addressed to people who demobilize individually or collectively from self-defense groups and guerrilla groups. To date, around 25,000 people in reintegration have completed their transition to civilian life with strikingly hopeful results. For instance 8 out of 10 individuals remain legal, and 73% of them have undergone training for the trades.
Special Reintegration Process: this process is geared to demobilized individuals appertaining to the Justice and Peace Legal Framework, who, after serving a sentence of 5 to 8 years in prison, transition to legality, contribute to truth, justice and reparation, and promote non-repetition of violent acts. Approximately 1,000 applicants today are diligently fulfilling the commitments agreed upon with the Agency, whilst nearly 70 percent of them have participated in training processes.
Reincorporation Process: this process is geared at people who laid down their arms within the framework of the Final Peace Agreement and transitioned to legality. The national government agreed on a Reincorporation Route with the representatives of this population to determine the socioeconomic guarantees and the opportunities for progress for nearly 13,000 former members of the Farc- Ep for the next few years. This population is committed to continue their studies, strengthen leadership and improve their work and personal skills, as well as those of their family group.
Vision | In the year 2026, ARN will have contributed to the coexistence, reconciliation and sustainable development, remaining as an international leader in the Reintegration and Reincorporation processes.
|
